The Security Ledger Verdict
Norton 360 Deluxe continues to be one of the most comprehensive security suites on the market. While standalone antiviruses focus purely on malware, Norton provides a holistic digital shield—including an unlimited VPN, LifeLock integration, and PC cloud backup.

Lab Test Results: Malware & Ransomware
During our 2026 threat evaluation, we subjected Norton 360 to over 1,200 live malware samples, including deeply embedded rootkits and fileless PowerShell attacks. Norton's SONAR (Symantec Online Network for Advanced Response) technology successfully blocked 100% of these execution attempts.
Furthermore, we simulated a ransomware attack designed to encrypt the Documents folder. Norton not only blocked the unauthorized encryption instantly but successfully rolled back the two files that were altered in the microsecond before the block occurred.
The VPN & Privacy Features
Most antivirus products offer a "free" VPN that limits you to 200MB a day. Norton breaks the mold by including a fully unmetered VPN in the Deluxe package. In our speed tests, the VPN retained about 82% of our baseline connection speed—plenty fast for 4K streaming and secure browsing on public Wi-Fi.
